About

Meet your instructor!

While earning her B.A. in the Teaching of Spanish from the University of Illinois, Stephanie spent a semester abroad studying in Spain and quickly learned the values of language and cultural diversity. Upon graduation and with a new thirst to further her experience and skills she embarked on yet another travel adventure to Quito, Ecuador where she spent the next two years teaching English as a Second Language for the K-12 bilingual school, Colegio Americano, as well as the local University, Universidad San Francisco de Quito.

Since that time, Stephanie has returned to the U.S. to pursue her passions stateside and completed two more prestigious degrees, a M.A. in the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Innovation with an emphasis on supporting teachers of culturally and linguistically diverse learners.

Stephanie’s commitment to language and culture is not only without bounds, but inspiring, and Summit Language Academy is the perfect testament to that very dedication.

“Language is part of our identity and the more we work to understand one another, the stronger and more united of a community we’ll be.”
